Dogs Know Pedigree… They can spot a purebred from a mongrel at twenty paces in the dead of night. What’s their secret? World-class noses. Man’s (and woman’s) best friend has a sense of smell that puts even the finest connoisseur to shame. And what does the mighty canine have to say about our wines? Well, if we understand dog correctly, these look to be wines of good lineage; one sip and you’ll know that the Dog House is a great place to be. Give it two paws up. Woof!
Robbie, Chief Dog Officer
Off the leash, Robbie is just like any other dog: enjoys swimming, hiking, good music, airplane trips, tummy-rubs, and the sweet smells of the vineyard. His canine approach to life means that every day is a tail-wagging occasion – no bad days, no catfights, and certainly no corked wines. Simplicity in all things. Robbie knows what he likes and he likes what he knows. His friendly approachableness perfectly characterizes Dog House Winery – genuine, distinctive, engaging.
A Dog’s Life Indeed
Since he was just a pup, Robbie has called the wine country his territory. During the warm, sunny dog-days of summer, he can be found down by the Chardonnay rows, playing with Oscar the cat in the shade. When harvest rolls around Robbie helps sniff out the best grapes from his favorite coastal vineyards. No bones about it, this dog has a nose for wine. Nothing gets his tail wagging faster than the aromatic smells of a good Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon or Zinfandel. So why chase your tail? The Dog House is a great place to be!
